May 29th was the day the Classic All Blacks, CABs, (former members of the New Zealand rugby team) hosted a charity dinner at Lawry's restaurant, Akasaka, Tokyo in support of the Tyler Charity Foundation (helping kids with cancer). On May 31st the CABs played a game against Japan and some say the reason they only just managed to beat Japan 16-13 as a result of late nights in Roppongi. Doug Howlett, now currently playing with Irish Munster and who won the European Rugby Heineken Cup a week before against French team Toulouse met Neil the manager at the charity function and with very little coaxing from Andy (who with great thanks from PF has supplied us with some of the photos below) on the following Saturday came to Paddy Foley's for turned out to be a huge party night. Dougie said he always wanted to come and play in Ireland as he thought Ireland was a fabulous country and went to recount many funny stories there. He enjoyed the Murphy's and Guinness although as you can imagine his preference was for the 'black stuff' of Munster! In presenting Dougie with a Paddy Foley's Crusaders T-Shirt, he promptly exchanged his own CABS T-shirt and promised he would return one day with his wife. A collection of photos below capture the magic of the party night enjoyed by all with Dougie in really great form. Cheers Dougie for a great night and we wish you all the best in our next two years with Munster.
